The game has an 18 certificate over here and if you're that effected by that sort of content at that age then you have a problem. Prior to that you shouldn't have it, that's what ratings are for. Also at that age you'll have seen far worse on the news etc... The series of games are all right but they get boring real quick!
All I said was that he learned how to disarm the cop etc. from the game

Well, in that case, we can say that the "
As long as you sell products..." sentence is becoming a
real rule for many merchants...

I don't think games "cause" people to kill, but I do think they contribute. Playing games like gta could erode your moral standards.

Yes I agree with Bandu. The rating on the box says M for mature 18+ so it's parents or adults that let the kids play the games who are at fault.

I've not checked that before, but do you know whether
GTA's box shows a "
Sexual-related content" logo ?

It doesn't. But you don't see anything in the game so why should they have it?

Because of the presence of hidden scenes which can be "potentially" restored through "un-official" patches, such as the "Hot Coffee"...

I could make a mod for swbf that was pornographic. Does that mean to say SWBF should have a sexual content warning just incase the buyer decides to download it?

That's not what I meant... In fact, I just said that GTA games are a sort of "hive" in hibernation, and mods such as the "Hot Coffee", a kick in it... Once they're both installed, the content of this "hive" is awaken, although you thought it didn't shelter inhabitants...

I'm surprised that it hasn't been banned in the US. I heard that Vice City was banned.

Are you sure this decision concerned GTA : Vice City ? Indeed, San Andreas had to be removed from shops, in order to cut off stuffs re-activated by patches, like the "Hot Coffee"...

Yeah, it was San Andreas that was banned, but I believe the game was fixed and re-released. Didn't Rockstar get a lawsuit or something? I thought it had something to do more with the fact that because of the content it should have been rated "Adults Only."

Vice City was banned. I was in New York and it was on some Fox channel.

Still , it isnt in the game when you buy it so why should it have a 'sexual content' rating !? . The fact of the matter is that the person who bought the game chooses to download 'hot coffee' and knows exactly what he's downloading.

The "Hot Coffee" mod has been done by one of RockStar employees... I guess many GTA owners have so decided to download it, since they had probably learnt that it was a sort of "official" update, without paying attention to its whole description...

It makes me laugh tho' .
Which is the crime .... Sex? or Murder?
The normal game is ALL about murder but THATS fine to sell. Add sex to the game ( thro your own accord I might add) and it gets banned!!!!??!!!!
CRAZY!
PS. However , dont misconstru (sp? ) this as me sayin all games with violence in them should be banned

Well, in fact, my choices are inherent to my "ideals"...
I won't be able to explain them in details to you, since you seem not to share the same opinion than I...
Also, I think it would be more careful to stop our discussion here, and wait for new thoughts, from other GameToast members...
