I hope you are still working on this.

Is the vibroblade visible when it isn't being used?

I played the whole campaign again in the last days.

Haven't found a pic when Boss reloads an acp shotgun, there you can see it better. But the peak you can also see when the vibro is not in use.

Yes I am still working on this! It has been a while since my last update of course. I have a list of things I plan on doing before that update. I will get a picture of the side of his helmet and work on the dark lines on the top of his head. I also plan on working on the back of his head again.

I'll take your references into consideration even though they are first person. If you can get one of them not using it in third person I will be sure to add it. Off-topic ish, would you like me to try to make a vibro attack?

I'll try a vibro attack. I've completely re-done the torso, much more bulky and has more shape. Hopefully I can upload some screens soon, right now i'm uving it. I also thing I'll leave the helmet edits till later... my main focus is the torso at this moment. :)

-EDIT-
Here's the new torso in-game! I don't have any pre in-game images though. I might add some later but first here are the screenshots:

Before, After, and Now. (because I don't have the older version in-game I simply edited an older screenshot):

Obviously the torso is new but I've also edited the lower legs and the arms (check the B, A, and N picture). The new torso has uving for the sides, so it wont look stretched as it did before.

-EDIT-
Here's the piece in wire solid (textured) and solid (+ textured):

I forgot to mention that since this new armor all branched off one cube mesh rather than some parts a completely separate mesh the envelope works better :D

really good job on the model and texture!
i noticed one thing about the helmet though. from the side the lower edge is pretty vertical on your model. in rc it is strongly sloped towards the front
here is an outline from a costume site i used for my commando model.

Thanks! :)

You mean horizontal right? If not then what do you mean by vertical?

Regardless I changed the whole front of the helmet with the help of the reference you gave (thanks for that btw) me along with a bunch of other ones. Here's the result:

The helmet is much better now

Maybe you can darken the lights in the visor texture (in PSE it is revise->Lighting adapt-> Depths / lights) Than you can darken the bright parts, but the dark ones are not affect and so have the same structure as before. Result can be found here. I played around with the glowing for a weapon and thought you may can use it for your RC, too. SO i tested it on an RC ;)

O.O What a different

Changed a few things, mostly texture, here are some screenshots:

What changed:
Anakin wrote:And i now see what's wrong with the helmet line (the dark one). Do you see the different??
1. The lines that go across the top of the helmet.

2. The texture for the ear area of the helmet.
3. Glow intensity decreased for the visor.
4. Forehead piece (don't know what to call it... the thing with three dots).
5. Artificial shading around chin to make it more visible.

Hey guys! Love the work, Nedarb7. I was wondering, in some of your images of the file inside Blender you have what appears to be a "reference" model of an in-game clone? How did you import this into Blender, and are there any scripts needed? I seem to be unable to find any that install properly.

Thanks! To answer your question Corogl I do have a "reference" model for proportions. I used the SWBF msh viewer to export the stock ep3 trooper model to vrml. Once the msh is converted to vrml I imported it into blender (I'm pretty sure blender has a vrml import installed when you get it).

I have another update. I've re-done the arms, this time it branches off the new torso. I also created a swbf style 3 fingered hand, rather than the two that I had before. I've also done some texture work to the arms and added sharp edges on the lower legs:

Wow that looks really great. The arms appear much more solid. The feedback I have is to give some more detail to the lower body, I feel the legs are too skinny. I also think the backpack could be rounded a little. The shading just looks too sharp compared to the smooth shading on the trooper.

Love the new update, and I must agree with MileHighGuy in saying the backpack does seem a bit out of place. Thanks for the response about the reference model!

You know i love refs :D

So here a collection of some rc parts.
Hidden/Spoiler:

So what can you see:
1st row:
1. the backpack has smaller and bigger parts. on you immage it looks like they have all the same width. And i think that's why it looks out of place.

2. The pelvis is a bit too small at you model. On the stock one is attachments.

3. one more backpack image, but i think you cannot see much on it because of the texture.

4. can have an nother look at the handpad?? Also if you could make the hands it would look much better and the handpad is emphasised more.

2nd row
1: and an nother backpack image. If you need one with a brighter texture please tell me and i'll upload one.

2. Can you add some noise and scratches to the texture??

3. Forearme attachments.

I hope this helps to perfect the model ;)

Thanks! That should be helpful.

Due to some difficulty with the helmet's topology I have been slow to post an update (since everything was a mess). I've finally managed to make it flow nice again so I can give everyone a sneak preview. I am in the process of texturing a completely new front of the helmet, so there wont be any ingames for a bit.
