Gentlemen, grab your Aperture Science Handheld Portal Devices, it's time to get us some cake.
Can't wait to see how co-op mode works.

I'm imagining there's gonna be some multi-portal stuff going on. Sounds awesome.

either like 2011 or 2012 (perhaps Half-Life: Episode 3 will in fact cause the end of the world?)

I was hoping that the ARG would keep going until we heard some sort of annoucement for Episode 3 and a Orange Box sequel, but apparently that's not the case.
Oh well, Portal 2 may contain a few hints of what is going on in the Borealis, and that's good enough for me.

Yeah... Well, I hope portal 2'll tie into the HL storyline some more, which is not unlikely. Plus, I really like the character of Cave Johnson already, and we barely know anything about him. And maybe we get to meet the ratman
EDIT: It's actually
unlikely there'll be a lot of tie ins to half life, since Valve said so

The storyline and artwork have been released in a magazine.

The Portal Puzzle Wiki wrote:When Gabe Newell received the Pioneer award at the GDC Awards Show, his acceptance speech touched upon the Portal ARG. He discussed that engaging with your gaming audience is very important and described in short what had been done so far in the ARG (morse code, SSTV, etc). When he was about to go into detail on the future of the ARG the computer running the slideshow he prepared cut to a Blue Screen Of Death. He said, "That's what I get for working with Microsoft," and then changed topics to thanking his wife and other people for their support, leaving the Portal discussion hanging. However, just before he leaves the stage, he says, "Good luck figuring it out." On the Gamespot live stream the full BSOD was not visible. It is currently thought that there were two separate BSOD screens, in order to trick people.
The Portal Puzzle Wiki wrote:In the picture, the code characters spell out E2E4E2D7C5D5C4D4D5E3C9D3C5C5C5. In EBCDIC, this translates to "SUSPENDUNTILEEE", or "Suspend until E3". Therefore, the ARG seems to be suspended until the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June.
Looks like it's not over yet...

I say we rename this topic to the official Portal 2 topic. Just to, you know, keep it all in one place.
Anyways. I'm super excited.

I thought it was cool, just wanted to share.
That rendition was very, very close to what the real concept art looks like. (the guy who made it made some official valve concept art before, so that explains it I guess)

Yup, and to be honest, I actually prefer this version of the "turret android", I like the bulky frame better.

Yeah, and I like the blue highlights on the "Personality Core" one better too, as well as the feet

It's still just concept art though.

Portal is quite possibly, if you ask me, the best game ever made. Seeing the existence of a sequel to it about a week ago caused me to nearly fall out of my chair. I cannot wait for another round of GLaDOS's sadistic puzzles; Portal was oh-so-sweet, but of course, all too short. Don't get me wrong, I love Half-Life 2 (though I'm far from finished with it and haven't even touched the Episodes in the Orange Box yet), but personally, well...Portal 2 appeals to me a lot more than another Half-Life 2 Episode. Between this, Halo: Reach, and Metroid: Other M, I'm beside myself in rabid anticipation of this year's gaming harvest.

Can't wait for this, portal was kinda short, but amazing.
I just hope they come up with new uses for the portals, you know? Eventually the whole double-fling thing will get boring, fast.
And it's unlikely we'll see Rattmann, from my understanding this takes place much later. I also understand, however, he made it past the explodey of doom at the end there, so more lairs and/or info? I hope so.
