WIP Naboo Sewers

Since we don't have enough Naboo maps on the go right now here is another one but it has gone a bit underground. Premise being is Amadala
and her guards snuck back into Theed via secret underground tunnel so they could get to the hanger. Well this tunnel just happened to go through the sewers (poetic license). These sewers will be accessable from above ground by jumping into the open man hole and other ways as well. Hope to get Naboo guards going well enough to use them against the CIS, got to give them hands in first person. This will be both CW and GCW heros will be Darth Maul/Naboo Queen or Qui-Gon if I can find a model. For GCW may just stick with Han and Boba. There will be 1 and 2 Flag and conquest of course. There may be assult and if I can get it going either a Uber or an XL. There are also other creatures in the sewers, Swampa for sure as seen in the pictures and others yet to be creatively named. The AI plays pretty well, they don't just stand around and get their underwear wet at least. This is may first map and first time using XSI all the sewer models were made by me.

Ooh, very nice. Will there be more to it then just a buncha sewer tunnels?

Glad to see that Naboo has replaced Geonosis in "most popular planet for a mod map." No, I really am.

Wow! This is really amazing! :D I was going to suggest that you change the name to Naboo Sewers but you already did that 8) Can't wait to play it! :mrgreen:

Whoo, it looks really nice! I just hope that you provide some diversity in including a bit of aboveground action as well. (edge cps?)

Oh, and I still want my paws on those sewer tunnel models. :P (just straight and turning)

Off-topic: What about Geonosis exactly? Did you feel you saw too much of the battlefield? I have seen few maps of Geonosis that involve taking place inside of a Spire or even a spooky base like the one in Republic Commando.

On-topic: I agree it was about time people got a little more creative with thinking further what Naboo could've also had besides the sea, Theed, Gungans' homes, and the beautiful green landscape filled with its fresh air.

FragMe that map looks very nice. I think it could use a little more lighting and by any chance are there "holes" in the water?

Off-topic: For some reason I thought the swampa was a joke the developers of Shadows of the Empire created known as "Wampa Swampa". Or was it that brown Wampa found in Gall Spaceport that called a Swampa.

There is going to be a small bit above ground cause as everyone knows trying to do two levels of AI planning doesn't work so well.

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of Swamp Thing but my drawing talents are lacking a bit.

I may or may not adjust the lighting up a bit, it actually works really well for game play except AI seems to see better in the dark. :roll:
And hey they are sewers I added the lights in the first place because it didn't look too good if I brought up the ambient light high enough to see. There could be a place where it is not advisable to go. :twisted:

Funny you should say that I was surfing yesterday and found there is a Swamp Wampa in Star Wars, it is a Wampa that was mutated by the Sith but couldn't really find a good picture.

Thought about this but it is hard to get things (especially nasty stuff) floating around, there are currently rats running around, well okay they look more like they are swimming, just a rat tga I renamed to fish and added the appropriate fish lines to the LUA and like the fish when you create and explosion in the water they float to the top and drift away.

Oh Epena I may release the models after I release the map. :lol:

That's him, looks a little blocky though don't ya think.
Hmmm maybe I should make it more grey like that one but that would make him harder to see :twisted:

I have a few ideas to make it look more realistic:

1)Dirty up the skins a bit to make it look gunky (especially the Swampa)

2)Use the container props and dirty up their skins and place them lopsided in the sewer

3)Add a kind of smoke/fog/steaming effect rising from the water

4)To add, to #3, have little holes in the roof like those open sewer manholes so that you have beams of light (like half cones of light) shining down and lighting it up in various areas. The lights shining down will light up the fog lifting from the sewer water

5)Add the trash compactor and maybe a couple of rooms from Jabbas Palace, it has the right atmosphere.

ya i think the compactor thing is cool. ive always wanted to play a map where it is dark and creey.

Already have number 3 there is a fog that rolls through the sewers, looks pretty cool actually just don't have a shot of it.
for 4 there are 14 "rooms" that all have man holes in them. Putting them in the sewers themselves won't really work because
Theed is going to be above the sewer level.
Could look into dirtying up the skins especially the legs, or make them so they have a very uncomfortable look cause thier underwear is all soggy. :(
Hadn't really thought about containers maybe in the main branch of the sewer some discarded droids or some piles of something we really do not want to know what it is. :shock:
Oh I don't think the compactor really fits in sorry.
