v 1.3 patch install problem on Vista

Ok, here goes. Today ive been trying to install the 1.3 patch today, and whenever I run the menu.bat/lite menu.bat (tried both), I tell it to update the sides, and it says it's paching a file, then it says "acess denied", then goes on to paching another file. "acess denied". And so on. Any help (especially from [RDH] Zerted)?

Run the command prompt as an administrator and then run menu.bat through that.

Ok did that and it says:
WARNING - Safty check failed:
"..\..\BattlefrontII.exe" does not exist
from the folder containing menu.bat
Halting to prevent possible folder damage
You should have extracted the v1.3 patch's files
into the folder: [swbf2]GamaData\addon\AAA-v1.3patch\
The v1.3 patch installer/menu will now exit.
The v1.3 patch was NOT installed.
Any help there?

What operating system do you have? If you got that message, then the patch shouldn't have touched any of your files...

still says "acess denied"
EDIT well, now I can play, and fake console/freecam works, but still no custom sides

Did you install the lite or the full version? Only the latter has the sides updated.
In any case, you can work around the menu.bat not working by installing either:
a) Conversion Pack 2.2 patch, or
b) Dark Times
With both of those the pre-installed version of the 1.3 patch (lite) is included. If you want to update the sides, you can simply do so by downloading the 1.2 patch and only replacing the sides (not any of the other .lvl files).

did a & b already. mod sides work but 1.3 sides on shipped maps doesn't
though 1.2 patch might work........

1.2 patch works!!!!!!! Thanks Mav! And thanks to Rep for putting the sides into an installer instead of a .bat file!

You would be cursing if the v1.3 path was a 800MB download. Using .bats allowed me to shrink it to 100MB. During testing, no one with Vista complained about it not installing correctly...
What you want to do is:
1) Install the v1.1 patch
2) Install the v1.2 patch
3) Install the Conversion Pack v2
4) Install the Conversion Pack v2.2 patch

yeah well, I did what you said, and it didn't work. Then I did what Dunii did and that worked, so you kind of, indirectly, helped, yes.
