So here's the problem I'm making a map with a custom IMP side. I made my own to cut back on the space the whole side took up in my last map. So I put in palpatine and no worries he worked just fine. BUT then i tried putting in the engineer and this happened:
When I select spawn the game crashes.
So, any ideas?

It has to be the things only players see, like view angle, or 1st person view or something, since it only crashes when YOU spawn.

1. Go to data_*** and open up editlocalize.bat.
2. On the bit along the side go to entity then imp.
3. Right click on imp and click on add new key.
4. Go down to the new key and type in the name of the odf of the engineer but with out the imp bit.
5. In the box to the right type in the name of the engineer, then in the drop down box select uk english and type in the same name
6. Save, it will freeze for a bit then a bit will come up saying that it has saved.

no the crash is because of a weapon thing. Be sure you have all ordances and weapon odfs in your side folder! The localization never causes crashes.......!

I didn't realise you were getting crashes as well, so like Jawa_Killer said check you have all the files.

If it isn't localized it should at least display the weapon name, soldier name. His display nothing? I've never seen that before. Not even sure what to say. Perhaps double check all your class parents. Check your odf's etc. lieke jawa said. Also, did you copy the common folder to your sides like it says in the jedi creation doc.?
Make sure you put BF2modtools.exe into this directoy and run it from this directory:
C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData
it should work that way, unless you have the DVD version.
