Bacially Bush wants to replace the head of ESRB with JACK THOMPSON!!!
And Republicans, Democrats, and everysince gamer is against.
If Jack Thompson does become pres. it's the end of all games except like Dora the explorer.

I heard that he tried to do something with Bush, but I don't know if he succeeded or not. This article seems rather..."suspicious," seeing as there's only one comment at the bottom, instead of 5500000 like there normally would.

In any situation though, Thompson should be considered dangerous. He has no power at all right now, but if it gets down to a protest outside the ESRB you know who'll be out in front, playing Halo 3.

Well this should be just a rumor for now. Probably a joke. A good if it was. Anyways. Politicians take too long to do anything.

If this is true, it's pretty outrageous and insulting to all gamers.

Most forums discussing this (such as gametrailers.com forums) are saying it's a fake.

Yeah, I agree. This whole thing smacks of bogus. I bet if I took more than the two minutes it took to read the article, I could find a debunking.

That whole "quote" from Bush is clearly a joke:

Come on. Seriously. Even if it were real he would face many, many problems (such as lawsuits) because he would theoretically be using the ESRB company to further his own agenda and do things according to his own beliefs and morals. I'm not sure how the company makes a profit but I'd imagine it'd also tank if he were to go on an anti-violence campaign as ESRB president.

Since then Thompson has embarked on a one-man crusade to singlehandedly remove all violence, pornography, questionable content, and anything else that would make a video game fun, all in the name of protecting the children who play these Mature and Adult Only titles. Titles that would only be available to adults if parents would do their job.

Even though this story is most likely false I just had to quote this for truth. If there's one thing that really gets under my skin it's bad parenting. And those games he's trying to keep out of the hands of children aren't meant for children in the first place. It's like criticizing an R-rated movie for being inappropriate for children. Instead of getting rid of those kinds of games (I'm personally not into them) he should simply enforce age restrictions for particular games upon purchase. It's the same deal with mature themes on television. Narrow-minded parents want to do away with shows inappropriate for their children instead of doing what they're supposed to be doing and monitoring what their kids watch. Those shows aren't meant for kids, geniuses!
