Republic Side Fix

Post by RepSharpshooter »

Download link
About installation:
DO NOT OVERWRITE YOUR ORIGINAL FILES! Place my rep.lvl and repshell.lvl in C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\DATA\_LVL_PC\SIDE, but first move the existing ones to another folder; again, do not overwrite. You may want the original later.

It includes:
-New skins for all units except special ones
-DC-15 carbine replaces blaster rifle
-slight aesthetic laser changes

This is a "fix" not a total mod, so you can play online, and it will still be compatible.

Credits:
-OOM-9 for the DC-15 rifle
-Mike Z, Majin Revan, and FragMe! for putting up the floating icons tutorial.

You sure? Because you if you changed the weapons than it probably won't. Only skin changes are still compatible online. Obviously if someone else has the same mod as you, than you can play online with them, but otherwise, I doubt this would work online.

I've played online, for a long time, and it works exactly as it was before.
Yes I changed the weapon model, but not the actual weapon name or properties. Unless there's something special about the Jedi Battle Arena, I think it works :) .

Model changes are possible too, and new animations too! (dont ask me why, but when you put backwardblock into a fix and you play on a default server, it works still, and you can use backwardblock  )

Don't know if its compatible with the pack or not. If the pack adds more units to the republic side or relies on changes within it, then no, it's not.
Hmm, not much interest yet, I'll wait it out. I would be able to give the source to people with distinguished mods/maps, if I trust them.

Almost any side mod can work online, as long as NOTHING is renamed.

Ok, Im confused, can you still play the default game servers, or can you just play servers with this "fix"? :?

This will work with the default servers.

I did not rename anything.

And also, I've been playing online all month on different game servers, so I'd say its compatible :)

On another note, I said I'd give the source to people I trust

It seems no one has much interest

Thanks for your support! :)

I dunno, I'm not really into taking unsolicited ideas, but what is it?

Well would it be possible to do a similar job on the other 3 sides as well? Maybe just spruce them up a bit and whatnot without renaming anything so it still works online?

I was thinking of doing that anyway. If you notice, all the b1 droids have a line down the front of them, that may be a bad skin. I'll think about what I want to fix. The rest of the sides looked good as far as I saw them though.

I'm surprised this hasn't recieved more attention. Rep, these are very well-done skins. I actually prefer these over the shipped clones! Good job  .

Dont worry, this mod is compatible with the conversion pack. I've had a similar mod running on it for a long time, and it was skin changes for the republic. Although, I didnt know changing laser effects could work online! Awesome!

Im definately downloading this, as it'll be pretty cool to see a carbine working online.
