When creating TGA its gray.

Ok in XSI when i go to create a tga for my model, I create it but when i take a look at it its all gray. Can someone tell me what im messing up on.

I want to create a tga for my model.
When i got to render map a set all the right settings and render it its gray.

If youre tga isnt gray you didnt apply the texture right. Make sure to set the viewmode of the viewport you want to view the texture in to Textured Decal or Textured.

what do you render (how) and where do you view the tga?

i go under materials i think to render map and i do surface color only ,unique uvs, tgas and then render then i go check the file and its gray also when i put it back onto my object its still gray.

so you want to view a texture in the viewport, right?
did you set the viewportmode to textured decal?

to what kind of model do you apply the texture/material?
is it various objects merged together?
can you post a screen of the viewport and the materialproperties?
