Is the multiplayer experience for this game really that revolution? I'm downloading GTA IV through D2D, and idk if I really want to buy Red Dead Redemption if it has the same game engine and not that many new features.

I also can't find out when it comes out for PC...

It doesn't.

The game is purportedly quite good- equal if not surpassing GTAIV. If you have a console, I would get it. If not, GTA should hold you for a while. If you haven't watched the Gametrailers review of it, then I would check it out to see if it looks interesting.

Pretty much everyone on my Xbox Live friends list is playing this. Of course that's typically the pattern when a big new game comes out. If they're still playing it a few months from now that'll tell me how good it actually is.

Yeah its a good one. If you're into free roamers, or good games in genera, this definitely isn't one you wanna miss. IMO its way better than GTAIV.

So I got this dirt cheap by trading in a bunch of Guitar Hero stuff I fixed...

Yeah, it's awesome. All of the sales people at GameStop were like "if you like Grand Theft Auto you'll like RDD". Hogwash. I haven't liked GTA since Vice City - it's just beyond foul now. Besides, this is nothing like GTA. It's Gun (another great Western-themed game) on steroids, and that's what makes it so great. I honestly thought it'd have lots of swearing, blood, and sexual content (knowing Rockstar Games) but so far the swearing is minimal, the only blood that's bothersome is when you skin an animal, and the protagonist is married and trying to get his family back, so thus far I've seen no sexual stuff.

The game shines in the sheer amount of things you can do. Jump from a horse to a stagecoach, hunt bounties, pick flowers (no joke!), break horses, hunt animals, drive cattle and more aside from the main story. I still haven't opened up the whole world (I assume some of these bridges will be completed later) but thus far I'm completely hooked. I haven't even got the lasso yet, but I'm looking forward to lassoing some varmints! Horseback gunplay is awesome to boot. I'm hoping to try out multiplayer with a couple'a XBL buddies, but that all depends on if my wife will get off Netflix... (side note - I didn't buy a 360 so that she could watch classic films and documentaries, but even after buying a Roku for the other room she still insists on using the 360 for Netflix so she can be in here).

My friend who is obsessed with Rockstar claims that they are going to release a version for the PC around the holidays, and he actually had a magazine in which it claimed the game would be for PC. I really prefer 3rd person shooters on the PC, but if the game really is that good I may wind up getting for xbox.

It fits perfectly as a console game. I'd imagine a PC port just wouldn't be as fun, and folks would end up using a gamepad anyways. The only benefit I could see for the PC would be the possibility of mods.

That and GTAIV's in game movie editor applied to RDR.
