Move Point Tool

do you see? if i hover over one point, it selects automatically the opposite point. i dont know how i have done this. any ideas? it would be helpfully for me(and maybe for others, too)
EDIT: sometimes, its helpfully, sometimes NOT...ARGH

Symmetry mode is on.
I do that all the time to myself.

Where is the Symmetry mode button? This problem is really making me crazy!!
