I quite like them. You can see that JJ, similar to what he did with Star Trek, is intending to modernize the franchise, while still staying true to it's original roots. I'll save my whining / rejoicing for after i've seen the movie.

Those are all to be taken with grains of salt, of course, but this is 30 years later. That's more time than in-between the PT and the OT (and far more than in between AotC and RotS, which also saw a uniform change). I have zero problem with them changing this.

I'm with Mav and Kingpin. We've seen the same ol' Stormtroopers time and time and time...and time and time and time and time...and time and time again, so I have absolutely zero problem with these changes. I actually think they look super-cool.

Totally agree. But I hope they won't change too much. I mean 30 years is pretty long. But the reality star wars stuff should be included I think. For example huge spaceships, the hero team (luke, leia, chewie, solo..), sith and jedi, Coruscant, droids and (yes I didn't forget him) Jar Jar Binks. But I always like new things.

I'm expecting them to have revised the design of the Imperial Star Destroyers too. I hear they've modified the TIE Fighters (though the main fighter and Interceptor apparently remain largely unchanged, the Bombers have apparently had their pods changed from horizontal position to vertical), and we have already seen they've changed the X-Wing.

Hm do you think they'll include a new deathstar. But it's not a sphere anymore. Maybe it's more like a torus?

I want to love the new helmet, but the way the visor connects to the mouthpiece is just distracting for me. Lose that and I think they'd look great.

Ah wait wait wait wait waiiit. 30 years after Ep. 6?? Who is under the helmet? I mean 30+20+a few years more. The guys who war the helmets are nearly 100 years old? I mean during the galactic civil war all the clones were pretty old. I know the empire let humans and aliens joined the empire but the clones already should be dead after 30 years or do they live forever?

Um, they're clones. You just whip up a new batch... Or, they put them in cryosleep.

Hm but the clones grow faster. The long throat woman from kamino said they gave them drugs to grow faster than normal star wars aliens. So the clones are already dead after a few years after ep 6. But I think if the empire phones to the Kamino Clone institutions and orders a clone pack they should get a new pack of clones I think.

Second, Jango Fett mentioned that ha wanted an un-drugged clone for his son. So there could have been some normal ones out there. Second, if they give them a drug to grow faster, my guess would be that they could also slow their growth. Maybe after the wars, they slowed down the process to sort of make a reserve army that could be "made" by using the speed drugs again.

Ohh man that would be cool. The bad guys could basically have tons of guys who have obtained the force by artificial means, and they could have a battle against the last true force users. Cool idea.

Likely just new recuits. But my question is: Why is the Empire still around 30 YEARS after RotJ?!? One would think that, after becoming crippled and leaderless, the imps would fall fairly quickly. (Like what pretty much happened in the EU's version of what happened after Jedi.)

Who said they were empire? They could be under a new leader..
