Okay i know that when you go to edit the rep_weap_inf_rifle for example it says its parent is com_weap_inf_rifle in the common side folder. well i know you can edit that but what if you just want it to be only used by the republic not the CIS, i know you can copy it and rename so only the rep uses it as its parent but i want that common rifle ODF in my rep folder how do i do that? thanks

copy the contents of the common odf to the rep odf that you have. however you don't want to replace anything in the rep file i don't think because that assigns the weapon's geometry skin, and sound.
