Looks good. Just like the movies. I'm sure it'll be great when it comes out. My biggest suggestion to you would probably have to be to make the whole arena
jam-packed with fighters, from both sides. Plenty of clones, droids, Jedi, Geonosians, and maybe an acklay (if you've seen the preview movie of Felucia, looks like it's going to make it into the game. I could totally see it in this map, as a kind of Rancor-type hazard you'd have to avoid while fighting). The whole battle should be total chaos, and there really shouldn't be a single break in the fighting, if it's possible. Just keep up the good work on those models, and I'm sure once BFII mod tools come out, this'll be
the hit mod map for BFII (and probably one of the very first too).
Just one question though... how are you going to use the Jedi? You
could have them as special units on the Republic... but that may unbalance the game a bit... unless you only give them a saber, one force power, and limited stamina to use. That'd kinda balance it out. Even so, I'm sure you'll find a way to incorporate it without making it
totally unfair... Oh, and the droid/Geonosians should
greatly outnumber the Jedi/clones. Like, maybe a hundred or so more. I mean, if the Republic's gonna have Jedi on the battlefield, then you might as well give the CIS some extra reinforcements to back 'em up.
And speaking of Jedi, who are you considering for heroes? Count Dooku would make a good one for the CIS... though I'd
really like to see Jango as the hero on this map. After all,
he was the one fighting in the movie, not the Count. Then, I guess for the Republic, you've got a lot of choices... Mace would make a good one, considering he was kinda the one who led the entire attack. But then Anakin would obviously be a good choice too, since he was down there right in the arena kicking Diet Dr. Pepper as the battle comenced. But then again, so did Obi-Wan, who's also an obvious choice... but if you're going to have the whole "save Obi-Wan, he's trapped in the prison-thing!", then you might as well go with either Mace or Anakin. I don't know, it's your map. You decide who's who in this map, not me.
But it's great to see people are already gearing-up to make some maps for BFII. That's a good sign; at least we know we'll get
something after it's released... I don't feel like playing all the official maps over and over again... need something to spice it up, you know? What better a way than some good ol' mod maps...
I, myself, am actually in the planning stages of a map of my own. Space battle, over the Imperial-Remenant Throneworld of Byss. I don't want to give too much information away... but you can bet it's going to have a few appearences of such things as the
Eclipse II and the Galaxy Gun...
and maybe a few new fighters... TIE Defenders, perhaps?
