is there any way to change the colour of the light that fires from the weapon like from green to blue or vice versa?

Re: fire colour
There should be something in the odf asking for the color.

Re: fire colour
Here look. This is the commando pistol ordanance file:
Anything highlighted plays a role in the final color. However, the texture plays the biggest role. Just change it to another tga to change it.

ausome! i think i found it. I think you have to edit the ordanance file like all_weap_inf_rifle_ord and change it from com_sfx_laser_red to com_sfx_laser_green. I think that is it. I'll let you know.

Re: fire colour
No need to let us know, it's true and not exactly news
You'll want to change the laserglowcolor and lightcolor too though. If you don't you have for instance a red laser glowing green and giving off green light

Re: fire colour
how would you edit the laser and light glow? they are just numbers.

Re: fire colour
It's RGB values + the alpha. So the numbers stand for a color. (
The easiest thing to do is if you want to change it to, say, green, find a weapon ordnance that shoots green lasers, copy the color numbers from that odf and paste em over the ones in the odf you want to change.

Everything on a computer is "just numbers," when you get right down to it.elfie wrote:how would you edit the laser and light glow? they are just numbers.
These particular numbers refer to the concentration of (in order) red, green, blue, and alpha levels. You can pretty much ignore that last one for what you're trying to do (i.e. keep the fourth number the same) and use this application to figure out what you need to adjust the other numbers to (or you could just use other .odfs as references):

Re: fire colour
Also if you really want to test the RBG value for the color you want, you can go into any drawing maker (photoshop, paint shop pro, even Microsoft Word), and there will be a color tool where you can click on any color, and it will show the RBG value.
It was how I was able to turn the stars red in one of my maps.
I'd recommend paint shop pro.
