I've looked nearly everywhere, but I can't find a good skinning tutorial (for GIMP) that explains how to use the tools, and which tools to use, for making a custom skin.
(E.G. Changing the whole chestpiece for the rep_inf_ep3trooper into a shock trooper chestpiece)

Nearly everywhere? Does "nearly everywhere" include the entire section labeled "Skinning" in the FAQ?

No need to be sarcastic. I'm fairly new to the site and I meant I've checked sites like star wars BF Files, Gamefront, or StrategyInformer and I've yet to find a very comprehensive skinning tutorial. Thanks for the help.

I apologize. My intentions are to be helpful but I may unintentionally come off as sounding sarcastic. But anyway, yeah, the sites you mentioned aren't really going to have very many tutorials for things like that, other than maybe SWBF Files.
