Crashing

My map randomly crashes after .4 seconds after I spawn.

I beleive the crash is being caused by turrets I put in my map.

I did not alter them at all.

They are tur_bldg_chaingun and tur_bldg_recoilless_kas.

I did not have any errors in my Mungelog.

Either that, or because all the spawnpaths are underwater.

Here is my LUA:

Did you set up your water correctly? It'll cause a crash just like you described if you didn't.

I copied all the effects from Kashyyyk, updated the req and placed the water in ZE, and added the FX file. What else do I need?

EDIT: Yup, I removed the water and it didn't crash.

But the water is vital to the awsomeness of this map, Can anybody help?

Well, follow the water tutorial in the FAQ carefully.

I did... I've made maps with water lets see... is it 7 times?
.
Nonetheless, it still annoys me and I cannot fix it.

EDIT:Woot!
The Water now appears for 10 seconds before the game crashes...

Just cause you've done something a few times before doesn't mean you're not susceptible to mistakes. You need to doublecheck everything you did in terms of putting in the water. That means maybe even backing up and starting over with the water.

Okay I've done smore testing and it appears to crash when a person underwater jumps up...

I'm confuzzled.

There is a really good tut that Ace Mastermind wrote a while back in a topic i made. try searchin' for a topic called -- How to add water to a map so it DOESN'T crash.

Thats the water tut. Also make sure you run the BF2_Modtools.exe thing before you assume anything.

Sorry for being incredibly ignorant, but I don't know how to use BF2 Modtools.exe.

You have to put it in Gamedata, right?

Also, if this problem can't be solved easily enough, I'll just drop the water completely and make something else, so I could use some ideas.

When I put the BF2_Modtools.exe in my StarWarsBattlefrontII/Gamedata directory, and ran it, it came up with a windowed version of Battlefront2, the original programmer version.
After I played my map with it, in the gamedata folder, there were some .txt documents called Bfront2 and bf2cmd.
When you open up Bfront2.txt, you will see error messages, such as this:

Message Severity: 2
.\Source\GameMovie.cpp(399)
Unable to find open movie segment shell_main

+++mission modes changed! ifs_mspc_MapList_layout.SelectedIdx = 1

Hope that helps too.

If you are running it correctly you will always get some output because the shell prints out a few lines. However, there does seem to be a bug on a few machines where the log file isn't created. Was the Bfront2.txt file created? If not, make sure you run the game as an administrator.

The Program creates a file called Bfront2.log in your gamedata folder that has all of the errors in it, Snork, open it with notepad.

I know. Thats exactly what I did. I guess I assumed correctly.

Anyway, here is my error log:
Opened logfile BFront2.log 2007-07-01 1755
And... thats it.

When does the game shut down on you exactly? When the game first starts up or when a map loads?

After I spawn, it seems to happen if I go into the water.

This is only on my one map.

After I fix this problem, I will post a Wip of this map.
