Sketchup to XSI being a bother again.

Okay, so I have a different XP now, and I just made a pretty cool bunker with Sketchup 8. So I got Crosswalk 3.3 (I couldn't find 3.0), exported the .skp into a .dae, and imported it into XSI.

However, when I import it and go into shaded mode, it is all black. Have the headlight on and everything. I don't know what's causing it, all the faces were just right (the outside faces were white, the reverse was blue, etc).

And also, Filter Polygons does not seem to work. And when I try to manually remove some of the excess edges, it deletes some of the polygon itself.

Does anyone have a solution to these 2 problems?

Try the Alternate tutorial in THIS post and see if it works out better for you.

I can't seem to get the download link for the advanced OBJ importer working. It might just be my computer, but IDK. And without the plugin, the resulting .obj I imported is backwards and has no polygons, only edges >.>

I think most of the problem is with Sketchup 8, as I've never had these problems with Sketchup 7. I'm going to see if that makes any difference. Has Sketchup 8 ever given any of you guys any problems?

*EDIT*

Okay, I'm starting to see a big difference here. It worked. But for some reason, the extra edges refuse to be deleted. Whenever I delete them, they either stay where they are, or turn into a different form of excess edges on my polygon.

can you post a picture of your model where you can see some extraedges?

these edges are necessary because you integrated the lamps(?) in the walls/ceiling. because they are connected with it connectionedges are necessary. if you dotn keep them thiese parts of the modle will be rendered ackwardly ingame

I see. One more problem, now...I added a new edge to an existing polygon, but as well as making a new edge, it seemed to make an additional polygon as well. I can't seem to get rid of the extra one. How do I delete it?

*EDIT* And another one. Sometimes, ALL of my clusters in the explorer disappear (except for one). But the textures are still there. What's wrong??? Can I just put a cluster back on where the old ones disappeared?
