I personally think that if it was gonna be that short, that it should include custom games so that people can keep playing it afterwards with friends.

It does suck how short it is, but hey, Bungie isn't running the Beta for us - they're running it to gather data on the game. I suppose we ought to just be happy that Bungie's interests sometimes coincide with ours!

By the way, when you guys get it, go for the commendations.
Why? I just reached gold rank on my Technician commendation and got 1000 credits, ranking me up to Warrant Officer and allowing me to buy the Mark V Shoulders.

I may be wrong, but I think I read somewhere that Beta stuff isn't carried over into the official game.

I was actually going to tell you that the codes were still available at that time, but after you didn't join I assumed you were busy with her and probably couldn't do the process of getting one even if you wanted to, so I left after about 5 minutes.
Oh, and someone found a weird glitch which caused almost all of the hidden armors in the beta to fly out of an assassination animation. Mark V, Mark VI (on Kat's Body o.O), Emile's EVA, and more. I've watched the saved film ingame and it's hilarious how he just teleported to a BLACK PYRAMID OF DOOM and just reappeared in the level.

I played it for about 45 minutes and all I can say is that Reach is Love. Everything's extremely impressive and surpasses my expectations, IE I thought Sword Base would be worse than Powerhouse, but it's equal, if not better, than Powerhouse. And then they made KotH finally playable for me, I got in a game on Sword Base and whenever the hill was anywhere near the center, it was intense action. Jetpacks are don't actually make you that big a target, and armor lock also isn't actually that cheap. All I can say so far is that I hope that by the final game, the assassinations are either automatic or not an insta-kill unless you hold down the melee button, as it's really kinda dumb that it's a choice whether you do the assassination animation or not.

Because it's only got 2 maps and is still pretty buggy and is already better than MW2.

Wish I had the free time to play this (haven't even turned on my Xbox in at least a month). Hopefully I'll have a chance before the beta ends.

Okay, that was amazing. Seriously. Out of our party I was by far the worst player, but the game already has a running for all-time best multiplayer.

I was amazed and surprised by the jet-pack. The only jet-pack I've known is BF2's so I thought it would be like that.... Boy was I wrong....

So do you get the jetpack automatically or do you have to earn it or is there an option of whether you want it on your map or not?

Each time you respawn you choose your loadout. Jetpack is one of them usually. In fact, I don't think I played any modes last night where it wasn't.

Wait...BF2...jet-packs!? How do I not remember this.
While I have not played the beta I have watched trailers and some videos and I will agree it's in the running for best multiplayer. I think Bungie found a way to make multiplayer fun again.
