I heard some great stuff for HL2. Any of you guys played it yet? Would you recomend it?

i play cs : source and i saw movie bout hl2 me went like (OMFG) heh , because there is like a weapon that lets u pick up like cars and stuff and shoot it at your enemys

HL2 is great but there is no multiplayer interface yet.

When the souce code was stolen and released on the net there was a command to setup a dedicated server but I have been unable to locate the command as of yet.

The single player is great though.

sounds nice! Ill check into it more when the mp portion is available.

I've just played HL2 and it is good. Like the textures and stuff. did not get into combat. Loads forever tho...

There is a way to play halflife 2 online guys , look at the MP test maps they released at hl2files.com and look at the comments , they explain there how to play HL2 online

Yeah I did do that but the maps suck and the figures have their guns sticking through there mid sections. It sucks.. I guess we will have to wait for a mod.

Well Valve has released the HL2 deathmatch update. You can get it through steam.

The only issue right now is that there is only 2 maps to play. But they are having a map contest. So there should be more out shortly.

So is it like possible to make SW kinda mod/map with HL2 modding tools?

My view of games has totally changed, I just now took the time to play the halflife 2 demo and im amazed, I was actually scared and loved it! Some of the best images/sounds/planned ai Ive seen yet, is anyone playing the online MP maps/ modded SP maps?

Ive modded the crap out of the steam demo but wondered if I should go ahead and buy the full version.

Any feedback?

its amazing there are over 1000+ console commands and the ability to load in maps is nice too. from what im reading the MP maps are hideous but some players have made very nice SP maps. may just have to get this one. (of course months after everyone else, lol)

so I bought this and am about 60% completed in SP , its amazing... ive not played MP yet but this thing makes my mouth fall when i enter an area and literally feel a chill up my spine. no game has ever scared me , but hl2 does everytime... i think its the sound/music that helps but the better then real life imagine is the main "draw". Once i get done im going to see what I can create mod wise on this one. PLayed with Garys amazing tool as well , which exploits everything this engine has to offer. hl2 rocks!

I bought HL2 10 min ago and cant wait to try it without interaptions. I played it couple months ago as demo or someone lent me a copy, not for long time....

Also, I found Jedi Timeline mod for HL2 which will be ready in a year or so, I bet it will be great.....

The other game I can not wait to buy is Battlefield 2, looks great so far...

And ofcourse SWBF 2

same here my wish list is :

Stronghold 2 in 15 days
Battlefield 2 in June
and maybe even the silly star wars lego game.

This game rules, i could kill antlions for hours...

its fun later getting to control antlions , i think ive got 3 levels till i clear this thing....im savoring every second.

i beat it in 4 days, controling them is fun but theyre aweful stupid...

online play is ok but everyone there is an idiot like one guy said "hey i put a trash thing on the ceiling" i look up...there it is he put a dumpster in the rafters with the G gun
