Munger error, Swaping 3d models and more questions

Some questions:
1.
I have modified considerably modified *.odfs but the Munged files don't show any differences from the originals.
What should the "game directory" be set to in VisualMunge?
2.
- I'm going to try to replace the AAT with a shuttle/landing transport, what do I need to do (eg. play with the *.msh files, the *.req lists or just the *.odfs)
- I'm going to want to bring 3d models for some CW era weapons into the CGW do I just copy the *.msh and texture files (is this even necessary)?
- How can I enable 1st person for creatures (eg. JAWAS) and JEDI?
Thanks

Ok... well, I can tell you right now that enableing jedi first person is going to be next to impossible. First off, there is no "disabled" jedi first person. The file's
just not there. So, unless you can come up with some first person that works with lightsabers (which is probably impossible), that's out of the question.
Also, the jawa first person
might be able to be added (again, there just wasn't one created). I myself have never attempted such a thing; ask one of the senior modders for that.
Second, it might work replacing the AAT with a transport, but that's just stupid. I would take a currently existing transport (like the droid gunship) and modify it's geometry. To change the geometry, you first have to have the side loaded into your mod directory (if you don't have that done, then look at the tutorials to see how to do it on Gametoast's FAQ forums). Then, you edit the lines that involve .msh files (and .tga files if it has an overridetexture written in). Again, consult a senior modder for more detailed information reguarding the flyers; I only have changed unit models, and I had trouble changing vehicles so it might need more).
Finally, the models for cw into gcw is fairly easy; you just copy the .msh and .tga (and .option if it's there) and paste them into your gcw side folder. Then, change the geometry around like I mentioned above.
Good luck!

Thanks, I still haven't succeeded in Munging anything other than the Imps.
I've got modified files in the modtools\data_mod\sides directory and I've located the directory where the output is appearing. New files appear in the output directory but they have an older datestamp ("date modified") than the day the current day.
The exception seems, inexplicably, to be the imperials (which creates a new file with the current date, that produces the changes in game).
Btw. If I change "common" *.odf files where does the result go after munging (common.lvl or each side\*.lvl or somewhere else)?
Thanks, S!
