We've got a Wookiepedia article on it, too. Are you gonna keep that one up to date too? Cuz something tells me the hardcore guys who want that info will check Wookipedia. I
think.

Nope. I don't edit Wookiepedia -- probably never will. I edit Wikipedia to try to keep up with sources and news and whatnot, but Wookipedia/Halopedia/any other -pedia just lets anyone do anything without any references/sources.

No offense, but that's a
really ignorant statement.
- The PSP is somewhere between the PS1 and PS2 in processing power, so it can't even push PS2 graphics
- You have an itty-bitty screen to play on, so you'll never notice the texture issues. It looks bad because you're seeing development screenshots -- oversized screens from the PC development machines.
I've made the Wikipedia entry one of my pet projects, so hopefully I'll keep it fairly up-to-date.

I was actually thinking about how nice those screenshots look considering it's on PSP.

I have some advice:
1st. It
Is Elite Squadron because it says so at the top of the page, because the graphics in some of the screenshots are inferior to the previous 2 versions and because some of this (If not all) was here:
(Check the 2nd link)
2nd. Lucas arts could sell most games well because spamming adverts and the product works.

Oh, wow. I just looked at the screens. The graphics donm't look too great in comparison to PC BFII, but those are actually really good for a PSP game. And just look at the empy! Looks BFII ported to me.

It may have originally been SWBF3 concept art, but assuming that it is just because it shows ground-to-space is bad reasoning, since SWBF:ES uses ground-to-space as well.

after seeing the screen shots i will now try to buy a psp
backontopic
from the screens they do look like swbf3 due to the skins and the helmetless clone. but here is my theory:
this is swbf3 but lucasarts has decided to release it on ds and psp but a rename to stop confusion (ie why call it swbf3 and only release it on ds and psp that would cause an uproar and confusion to people who has seen the leaked footage). because of the similar gameplay and the characters. but they have done it on ds and psp as there hasnt been any swbf games on there really. but is it also on these due to the upcomming starwarstheclonewars: republic heroes (swtcrh) game? to substitute it? its comming the same time because there isnt a ds and psp version of swtcrh game so swbf3 has made the perfect substitute for ds and psp owners?
the kashyyyk screen do you see any similaritys? they have nicked some modders ideas...yankfan and a_speck_of_dusts kashyyyk had a crashed venator but in the movie it didnt so why did they include it?.....

Nah, this is a

I don't know that this is in lieu of a SWBF3; LA most likely wouldn't have known much more than about a year and a half ago (and that's being generous) that they couldn't get out SWBF3 as planned. Like what was posted above, I think there's a good chance that this was going to be SWBF3 for the portables (or at least a side-along release), but in the wake of losing SWBF3 (or at least getting a huge setback) there probably wasn't a lot of reason to just sit on a finished product.

I don't really care too much about why and how, as long as the game plays well and satisfies. I'd rather get over the whole "Lucasarts rumors and elaborate explanations" and play this game rather than NO game. Although that's no excuse if they release a bad game.
I also noticed that the game is basically new maps and that's it. From those screens, it looks like they have Pandemics assets, and the same cover artist, or at least one with a similar style. Boba is ported, and so are the ammo/ health canisters, and the units as far as I could see. It's like a giant mod for PSP. But I see no problem with this, other than spending money.

wow... they finally do space battles right by putting the entrance to the hangars on the bottom of the Star Destroyer instead of on the side.

Star Wars Battlefront 3
Pandemic OFFICIALLY stated that SWBF3 was not being worked on by them, and besides - they're going there to show off
Sabeteur. Plus project X and Y have been up there since before SWBF2 came out. Sorry, but no.

if you ask me, its only a matter of time before LA picks up the pieces and restarts swbf3 (i mean if there making the psp game, i think its a sign that LA isnt gonna just drop one of the great franchises around) I think its just a matter of time before we hear word of a SWBF3, and if not then LA should know there making a massive economic mistake.
also the new game looks nice, but i really hope its has more of a firstperson shooter style control scheme instead of the Renegade's lock on or else u cant hit beans control style, like they did with the psp version of SWBF2, which even though it didnt have as many maps nor had campaign mode, it was a pretty decent game for a portable.

I'm not quite sure what we can take from this, but he's supposedly an industry insider, and we are getting a PSP version later this year, made by Rebellion which kind of half validates one of his statements.
