You can say it here. Just to finish the argument.

No, the rest of us have no need to hear your argument in a topic not even discussing what you two are arguing about.

I'm
I know it's keeping the franchise alive. Most kiddies just think Star Wars is toy story with forbidden stuff likes guns and deaths. In my opinion, Star Wars is making a last stand as
other franchises such as Halo storm the 21st century. Little kids can't read, and sometimes I doubt their parents can
either. That eliminates the E.U. TCW is their best chance, yes. Call me a sadistic critic if you want, but I think that Star Wars has just lost its creativity. We already saw a CW series, we saw how bad the Battle for Endor movie was. We're basically what's left of the creative part of Star Wars. The fans are the life of Star Wars. Well... enough of my speech. I no longer wish to dispute. Sorry. Just a lot of
"Hoopla!" today. Let's just say that TCW could supplement Star Wars' survival. I hope this season will be worth the wait.

Hmm... you must be thinking of another movie than the Return of the Jedi cuz me and a good portion of the Star Wars fan base love it.

I bet that you had no clue of the OT when the PT came out. At least most people of your age. How is that a problem?
And Star Wars was marketed at you when you were a little kid. Did it kill the franchise? This has happened ever since Ep. IV came out. I see no problem here, too.

Alex, be nice. I saw the original trilogy when I was in second grade in 1998, my Dad didn't even tell me it was in preparation for him wanting to take me to see the soon-to-come prequel. And I have forced my younger siblings/nieces/nephews to watch the original trilogy and determine that as Star Wars before letting them know the prequels even existed. Quit making assumptions based on age.
Fixer makes a good point, this Clone Wars series, while helpful towards keeping the Star Wars franchise alive is almost de-sensitizing the impact of it all, especially to those that are new to Star Wars, such as the elementary children. The people who might or might not have actually seen ANY of the movies, OT or PT. There's just no way you can recreate the emotion, complexity, depth, and story of the original movies in thirty minute episodes. Granted, the younger audience might have trouble grasping all of that if they COULD fit it into thirty minute episodes, but still...

Actually, I was first shown the OT. I first watched the prequels when I was about 4. Long, long after I first saw the OT. And please, don't take the idea I like Republic Commando. Fixer was just a name I liked, so I chose it. The thirty minute episodes can't pack too much of a story unless they are in a big story arc.

Didn't the PT remove the impact of the OT? The impact will never be the same even if you've watched the OT first, unless you saw it when it was released in '77. The special effects, the main thing that made Star Wars popular and "believable" were getting old as the time went on. The purpose of the series is to introduce the newest generations to Star Wars. As the prequels did before. It's not to replace the movies or anything, but to be familiar with the universe and make you watch the movies.
CommanderFixer wrote:Actually, I was first shown the OT. I first watched the prequels when I was about 4. Long, long after I first saw the OT.
If it was that long, how do you remember or even understand a movie with 2/3 years old? Let's be honest here. To many teen and younger fans today, even if they liked the OT better or saw it first with 1 year old, it was the prequels who made them stick with Star Wars until today. That almost happened to me and I'm in my 20's.
CommanderFixer wrote:And please, don't take the idea I like Republic Commando. Fixer was just a name I liked, so I chose it. The thirty minute episodes can't pack too much of a story unless they are in a big story arc.
Can't? Some of the best and well-received episodes of the series were stand alone episodes. "Rookies" and "Tresspass" come to mind. Even some episodes with good story that are part of an arc can still be seen as stand alone. A good story doesn't need 60 or 90 minutes to be told. That's a fallacy.
And if some of you think I'm not being "nice", don't get me wrong. It's just a friendly discussion here.

That just came across as a little snoody, IMO. If it wasn't intended, well then I apologize for bringing it up in the first place.
Now for something regarding this topic:
http://www.starwars.com/video/view/001083.html
Few new clips, slightly interesting talk, and it shows just how much the voice actors of Anakin and Obi-Wan look like their CGI counterparts O.o
Oh, and just like Season 2, every Season 3 episode will be available on iTunes the day after it premieres. There's also a free "sneak peak" of season 3 available on iTunes, but I haven't checked that out yet, it's probably just the TV spot or the trailer or something.

Sorry for that then, it wasn't my intention.
As for the iTunes preview, is a clip of the battle on Kamino with some great shots. I think it's on Youtube.

The transparent visor-guys aren't "troopers" at all in that armor; it's a VR simulator - you can see Anakin in one too. It is on Kamino, though, and most of them are trainees.

I don't understand what the difference is between a cadet and a trainee. I suppose if we want to get technical cadets are still kids, but I was generalizing. Heck, even the show synposizes them as cadets:

That wasn't an argument, it was an amendment. Clarifying that it wasn't a new armor style or a trainee-specific armor - it's something that's used only in a VR setting, no matter who's using it.
