So Rekubot released Pahricida's DC-15A that Wazmol converted. So I download it, put it in my sides .msh folder, make the proper changes to my ODF:
[WeaponClass]
ClassParent = "com_weap_inf_rifle"
GeometryName = "rep_weap_inf_new_rifle.msh"
[Properties]
GeometryName = "rep_weap_inf_new_rifle"
HighResGeometry = "rep_weap_inf_new_rifle"
OrdnanceName = "rep_weap_inf_rifle_ord"
FirePointName = "hp_fire"
//******************************************************
//*************** SOUND ****************
//******************************************************
MuzzleFlash = "small_muzzle_flash"
FlashColor = "80 80 255 255"
FlashLength = 0.025
FlashColor = "100 100 255 255"
FlashLength = 0.025
FlashLightColor = "220 220 255 175"
FlashLightRadius = "2.0"
FlashLightDuration = "0.25"
Discharge = "small_smoke_effect"
FireSound = "rep_weap_inf_rifle_fire"
ReloadSound = "com_weap_inf_reload_med"
ChangeModeSound = "com_weap_inf_equip_med"
FireEmptySound = "com_weap_inf_ammo_empty"
WeaponChangeSound = "com_weap_inf_equip_med"
JumpSound = "com_weap_inf_rifle_mvt_jump"
LandSound = "com_weap_inf_rifle_mvt_land"
RollSound = "com_weap_inf_rifle_mvt_roll"
//ProneSound = "com_weap_inf_rifle_mvt_lie"
SquatSound = "com_weap_inf_rifle_mvt_squat"
//StandSound = "com_weap_inf_rifle_mvt_getup"
And munge.
Ingame, the rifle doesn't appear (like Atton Rand's blaster in the conversion pack), and I get these errors in the log:
Code: Select all
Message Severity: 3
.\Source\Weapon.cpp(2044)
Weapon "rep_weap_inf_rifle" missing geometry "rep_weap_inf_new_rifle"
Message Severity: 3
.\Source\Weapon.cpp(2076)
Weapon "rep_weap_inf_rifle" missing high res geometry "rep_weap_inf_new_rifle"
Help?

I cleaned and munged the side and it worked for me.
Did you have the updated version? Rekubot posted another link to a fixed one a few pages after the initial release.

Sure.
Rekubot wrote:Well, here's a new screenshot. The model is courtesy of Pahricida and the conversion is by wazmol69. Unfortunately, I can't get the shadow volume to work. It's never been a problem before, but now it crashes XSI whenever I try to export the model with one, and I have no idea how to fix it.
Still think it's rubbish, JK514?
Oh, and wazmol has just posted to release it, so I'll upload it to Filefront as soon as. And of course you should get credit!

I like the model, but the texure is sorta weak. Pandemics was alot more detailed and had the flashy lights and what not.

yea I like the model it has more angles and overall looks like a cooler gun but the texture ain't doin it for me you should get a better one and just so you know post this in your odf to get rid of the floating gun in the pic :
HUDTag = "0"
Just in case you didn't know

Or just follow through FragMe!'s tutorial which is pretty easy and everything else is self explanatory.

Yeah. I know the texture looks a tad weak. But I have darkened the DC-15A I converted from MB to base JA before the DC-15A was publicly released. IMO, it looks more... movie-ish. And the texture is fine. It's just a tad bright is all!

There seems to be a dc-15a sticking on the clone's leg

That was so annoying until I got that tutorial. Is there a download link or something that we could have please?
I once had the issue of not enough rifle meshes, now I have the issue of not enough odfs.

what a nice rifle, i didnt knew it, what is the HUDtag exactly?

Wow. Not bad at all. To fix the hud without much work, instead of leaving it empty, use the default DC-15 rifle's HUD model. It won't match the new model precisely, but it'd look better than a blank spot.
HUDTag tells the game what model to display on the HUD when you switch weapons. So, when you use a rifle, you see an image of the rifle in the corner next to the ammo count, etc, etc. I don't know why it's a 3D model instead of a 2D image, but that's what they use.

If you use Frag's tutorial, it will fix it into a 2D image but it's really big and doesn't fit. When I scale it down I'll show you guys a picture.

Could someone please post the link for this rifle, or at least the page or site where the download link to the rifle is hosted?
I am looking for a really good rifle mesh to give someone, and this would fit very nicely.
