Quick question about.lvl files

I just had a question about .lvl files for sides. I have my custom sides in my map, and the sides folder is 249 megabytes, but even after I did a full clean on the sides, then remunged all of them, the munged sides folder is still 581 megabytes. I was wondering, is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? (it's not the other files, the non-custom folders in there are less than a kilobyte)

The more custom classes (units, vehicles, etc, see your side's .req file) you have, the bigger your .lvl file will be. 249 MB is a reasonable size for a little over twenty classes (or around there).

Just look at other .lvl files for comparison:
The KotOR side has all the KotOR-era stuff; it's 220-ish MB.
The Conversion Pack's heroes side has all the Pack's (non-KotOR) heroes, it's about 180 MB
The Pack's SWBF1 side has all the SWBF1 stuff; it's 200 MB.

If you've got a side with (essentially) two teams packed into it, like AQT said, 200-ish MB isn't unreasonable. Sides get bigger based primarily off of models and textures (with the latter increasing size the most). If you've got a side with a lot of different-looking units, you're going to have a bigger side.

Well, I have the REP side, with basicly all the vehicles taken out and 2 more units and a few weapons added, but the munged folder is 387 megabytes. Does the RC have anything to do with it? Also, is there any way to stop visual munge from doing the shadow on the RC?

EDIT: well that's strange, the .lvl's size actualy increased after I got rid of the vehicles. All I did was take out the vehicle odfs and add wazmol's dc15carbine and shotgun, and Pharacide's dc15a.
