Fiodis wrote:Zahn's Star Wars novels are better than any others out there, but his best work lies outside the EU, imho. Have either of you (Maw, Wulfman) read The Icarus Hunt? That's one I'd recommend even before his Thrawn trilogy or Outbound Flight.
Can't say that I have. In fact, I haven't read any of Zahn's non-Star Wars novels.

I love that book. It's a terribly important work of literature, if you ask me.

I'm currently reading Anthem by Ayn Rand. It, in my opinion, is a great novella that I've enjoyed.

The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks
Really like how Weeks invents his own system for magic and that he discribes it in a very logic way unlike many other fantasy books.

I've been meaning to read those, but my library doesn't carry them and I can't justify spending money on em. What are your thoughts? If they live up to the show, I might just have to justify the expense.

It's essentially Castle, the book. Just with character names changed, slightly changed characters, and Rook (Castle analogue) is a magazine writer as opposed to a novelist.

So if you love Castle as I do, you'll love the book.

EDIT: I'm so silly. A rook chess piece is also known as a castle and I only just noticed this.

Triplet by Timothy Zahn.

Little over halfway done. Zahn has yet to disappoint me, I thought maybe his earlier work would be the first to do so, I was wrong.
