How to add new eras to the Original Maps?

So I have been thinking of making a mod were the Remnants of the Clone Army (those who somehow DIDN'T obey the Order 66) are fighting the new Galactic Empire. And I thought it would be cool for the mod to feature the possibility to play this new era on the Original Battlefront 2 maps. So, HOW do I exactly do that?
