Weird Lighting Issue

Hello Gametoast, I have a strange problem. I made a model in XSI, textured it, and exported with Mshex, and now there's a weird lighting problem with it. When viewed in Msh Viewer and presumably in ZE, the model exhibits the same lighting as in XSI. What I mean is that when I tilt the model, it gets darker and lighter as if there were the light source in XSI. I think I did everything right, anyone know what's happening?

Could you provide screenshots of the problem, please?

Sure, note that this is the same model, same texturing uv layout, same export, from two different angles in MSH viewer.

Hope this helps.

What are your Phong material's diffuse and ambient color settings set to? You should probably test the model in-game, too, and see how it turns out.

Off-topic: As a notice, I want every model to have a normal map. Set the material flag's render type to 27 and put the name of the normal map in the tex1 box. I'll send you a link for the GIMP module soon.

It may have something to do with your model's normals. I don't have any clue what else it might be :/

It shouldn't be a problem ingame, you really should test that before getting worried. Don't trust SWBF Viewer to give you an accurate viewing of how the model will look ingame, trust me. SWBF Viewer does not handle light the same way Zero does. It's just a viewer.

Wulfman's right, this isn't a problem ingame. I just forgot to update the tread  . It's kind of amusing though, because SWBF Viewer only does this to models I export, not any others. Oh well, doesn't really matter.
