It is my favorite too, I can "draw" better with geometry than I can with a paint brush.

Ultimapper is part of XSI, look under Property on the left side menus

If you are not using XSI then in whatever software you are using look for something that will generate Ambient Occlusion maps.

Help files within XSI or Google ultimapper and you should be able to find something.

All the people who reacted were correct; it is indeed supposed to become a TIE Century tank.
Here's some more, please ignore the ugly-ness on some of the texture, but that's just a simple AO map I made to make it look better. I worked on the cockpit a bit more and added turrets; I also redid the sidewings/parts:

I'm going to keep working on it until it's perfect in my view; I haven't even nearly reached that state.

Looks good

I think the cockpit looks fine, just not the treads. A little detail in the treads and it would look awesome

I disagree, the cockpit needs a more glossed-over glassy sort of look, plus more fine detail embedded into the texture in that area to make up for the lack of a high poly model.

As far as how the texture LOOKS, since it is a WIP, It's an amazing start to a great texture.

Well, to be honest, I haven't even really started on the texture; the texture that you see is baked on an UV-layout that's made by a Blender script so that a texture is fully packed with quants. I haven't seriously touched the texturing part yet, since there is still so much more detail to be added. I just added two circles and some cubes before baking to give more of the model more of a TIE feel to it.

If you would like to make it more attractive, since there re already so few pollies, add a bit more detail near the struts and around the treads. Maybe a few extrusions and some actual treads, it would be nice to see a tread vehicle that has animated treads instead of a simple texture loop. This is shaping up to be fantastic vehicle and I have high hopes for it as well... now to be clear this is a Tie crawler correct? Not a tie Mauler?
