so I am making a custom boba fett and I am trying to add the stock boba fett texture but after following this tutorial
http://www.gametoast.com/viewtopic.php?t=4468 and on step 6 the texture editor look like this

it shows all polys and Im trying to texture the feet yet the polys are on opposite sides of the texture, in tutorial I always see polys that are next to each other for example if I were to texture a hand it folds out correct, Is there another tutorial out there?

Why are you trying to make completely new UVs if you are using the default boba texture? It would be easier just to edit the model and keep the UVs
"Unique UVs" are better for simple and low poly models like buildings, not Units. If you must make new UVs I would use Roadkill from the FAQ.

Yes Roadkill is free and open source. Not to be confused with RoadkillPro, which was a closed source commercial plugin developed by the same people, but is completely different.
I just checked all links and they work fine.
- The links for the program and plugin in the XSI FAQ thread -check
- The links for the program and plugin in the "Free Softimage Mod Tool 7.5 software" thread -check
- The link for the program on pullin-shapes -check
- The links for the program and plugin in Janosch's "Modified Roadkill Exporter" thread -check
- The links for the program and plugin in the "Roadkill Plugin How to Thread" -check

I remember the hotkeys were explained in one of the other videos here
http://www.gametoast.com/viewtopic.php?p=403314#p403314
I think it was double click or t
I recommend making a new texture rather than trying to make your UVs fit the original boba's texture.

The tutorial video will tell you how to "snip" in roadkill. if you are just using XSI i think you can select the polys on the hand in the normal view then in the texture editor turn Tearing on by clicking the T icon on the toolbar, then move the selected UVs and it should come away.
