At first, I thought this was gonna be some comedy movie but after seeing the trailer and who the main star is (Harrison Ford), I've changed my mind.

I will watch it, simply because they are honest about what they are trying to sell, it's like "hey, we strapped a flamethrower to the back of a shark (???????) and put it on a tank with a bear wielding a chainsaw staff, wanna come over and watch them fight?" I have no idea how this turned into a movie, they must have officially ran out of ideas or something, whatever, I don't care, cowboys and aliens.

Actually, the name isn't an "obviousness" thing, they chose it to gather attention for the film. A title like that is somewhat surprising, and the people who came up with it expected lots of buzz and attention and the title going around by word of mouth.

The movie has a pretty sick cast, so I'm expecting the best.

Also, as has been said, this movie will either be awesome or just flat-out suck. It looks pretty good, but that last movie I can remember where the lead actor was Daniel Craig sucked, sooo...

lawl its hard to discuss a movie with only one trailer, and easy to get sidetracked with such a name

I wonder how they are going to use this alien invasion thing; is it like War of the Worlds? Is it some cliché bullcrap about that dude from the trailer being an inter-galactic super soldier and the aliens having come to take him back? Are they evil? They must be, because they are aliens, right? [/sarcasm]

Maybe it has something to do with crystal skulls.

But in all seriousness, I like the setting, we could use more movies set in the old west nowadays... even if there are aliens in it.
