I was wondering how one would get a custom lightsaber in game through XSI? I searched and I didnt find any tutorials on this topic. THX in advance

Exact same way as any other weapon. The alignment is the same against the hand (although you'll note that this will move the position of the hp_fire). Your saber blade emits from the direction of the hp_fire. I would import a stock lightsaber to check your position against it.

actually lightsaberblades dont point in the direction the firepoint does, they are rotated around -60 degrees on the x-axis if the hp points along the y-axis

Check again. Make sure you're looking at the arrow view and not the null view - I just checked against some of my saber models.

That is a fine setup, although I can tell you from experience that your position is going to be a little off. The very top of your lightsaber hilt touches the dummyroot; you will want to move it a bit further up than that; for example (and I know this is somewhat of an awkward view):

The dummyroot is the green null in the upper-right-hand corner of the picture.

The way I always like to think of it is that the dummyroot is essentially where the largest knuckle on the pointer finger of the right hand is when that hand is holding a weapon.
