Since Quake 4 is a story based FPS Im thinking of getting it but Id like some peoples views on it 1st. Iv read reviews from IGN etc but I prefer reviews from people I know.

anyways, I've heard that its nothing 'new', and the game might be the same after about 10 minutes.

I'm not the big Quake fan

However, contrary to Quake III and its other "predecessors", Quake IV owns a Single-Player mode... According to the reviews I've got, the story isn't revolutionary, but you'll appreciate it for the power of its graphic engine...

The demo was reaaaally good, albiet short and way to "DooM 3 Redoux" with lighting.

Ya just played the demo. enjoyed it. Glad to see some outdoor areas (unlike Doom3) . Think ill go and get it once I get my new Saphire Radeon X800XL GFX card

if you want some serious MP Deathmatch action, then Quake IV is your best bet. Me and a few friends went down to a LAN parlor and played a few hours of DM, was pretty good, and very clan-friendly. Of course the biggest thing, will be the mod-maps
Although i don't have the game myself (dang PC), i would strongly recommend it

Talking of "mod-maps", do you know if Raven will release modding tools for Quake IV ?

looks likely since in the menu in the game there is a 'mods' section.

Seriously though, the demo rocked. Every Quake game (except 3) has rocked.

Guru I think you need to upgrade your PC mate!

Is it really a capture of the first Quake series' game ? (Since it looks like to one of those Windows screensaver...)
