Mazda, I just wanted to let you know, I admire your work! :D Keep up this awesomeness. Might like, I dunno, use this in a movie Im making in JA. When FREE camera comes into play, I'll have to get some movie footage of your map! :D Ofcourse if you want me to. ^_^

Great work, keep it coming. I really love how everything fits so well to Saleucami! It's just so cool! Though the spires need to be retextured. >_< Mazda, I'll also send you the recon skin I found if ya need, or do you have it? Anyway, ya, awesome! :D

Do you think you can get into making it where lots of clones spawn? Im testing one of OOM's test maps (no dont ask me) and his has quite a bit of clones/droids in it.

May wanna check into that. I know this is intended to be a vehicle war thing. But it'd also be nice to see at least a major infantry war on the ground though. Im just wondering, it's your choice.

Hmm, I did increase the units per team to 32 and reinforcements to 200 in the scripts for GCW and CW. Will it actually work if I make it for example 50 units per team? I'll have to check into that, but 200 reinforcements are fun if you want to boost it up at 500%. 1000 reinforcements...*growls*.

Again, thanks for the support RSL! If you want, you can send skins over, I'll give you credit for sure;)

If you want to use my map in a movie, I'd be honoured man. Go ahead and shoot it!

Huh.. can you boost ur reinforcement count to 1000? i can only set it to 500.. And for how many reinforcements at the time i can only have 32.. not 50. Is there something to change this then??

No, not yet. I've been implementing some other changes to the map to improve it. Sound must be done before v1.1 is released though. As soon as I find a link to Psychofred's tutorial, I'll see what I can do.
Thanks for the reply Mazda great map I look forward to the next updates for it a turly fun map

Altho im not a fan of these types of maps (vehicle fights) im sure some people are .

the thing that I really notice is that the fog settings need to be changed.

Also im not a fan of the geonosis spires ...they look out of place to me.

As for the collision problems with the palm trees , you need to delete the lines in their odfs where it calls for collision , that way the munge will create a collision for them.

You should use the white leaved palm tree i gave you aswell .........they are on Saleucami in the movie

its a good 1st map

The thing is like this:

What you set before you start a game is the percentage of reinforcements that you want. For example, when you play an original map and set reinforcements to 500 you get 750 i think.

It is possible to get 1000, in the Courcant map you can get 1200

As for the reinforcements, it can be set on each map byt the map creator how many reinforcements there can be. For example when you play XL mode there is a lot more bots in each team.

Thats really what this map needs.

The area is so big, that its hard to even find a great deal of action on the map.

I say have at least 50 units on the map at once, and see how that goes. But I don't even think 50 will be enough (32 didn't do that much for me at least). I say maybe 100 to 200 on each side... now that would be awesome.

At the start of the level... yeah, there would probably be a hint of lag.

I normally don't play online, so my opinions will obviously conflict with some of the views of others. I just enjoy killing a little time playing on maps against the AI.

Plus with all the cheaters out there... I don't feel like playing against people who aren't legit.

Playing a map like that online would probably be real laggy, but that honestly doesn't concern me. Maybe XL mode could be designed to have a large amount of troops on the map, and leave Conquest as is?

Another unique feature I would like to see is a survival type mode. And I think it would go well with this map. Have a ticket number of about... 100 or so, and have ALL reinforcements spawn on the map right away (so if you had 100 tickets, 100 troops would spawn). You die once, game over. Last team standing wins. That idea seems more realistic to me. Its something I'd like to see on large maps like this one.

and up to 200 on map at once
that would be cool

People seem to get hooked on having loads of reinforcements for some reason ..... 1 thing you dont want is a map that drags on

Welcome and Thanks Mazdanator! (LOL mind if I call you that?) Ill PM you the links once I got them up on photobucket. Im gonna do them in TGA format if you have a photo converting program. Actually, I think I'll do both TGA and JPG's so you can see them before you decide if they're worth it.

Well... his (SWShellhound) formula is pretty good though, to be honest.

1000 is just a little more then I would've said. For 200 troops on the map I'd say have about 800 reinforcements. That way each person has about 4 lives (it doesn't work that way obviously, but thats the formula I use).

It really isn't as big as you think. The more troops there are, the more deaths there are.

And for a map like this... deaths are usually rather quick. The only part that drags on is the end when there is a small amount of troops on the map. I compare it to a game of cat and mouse when it gets down to about 10 reinforcements on this specific map. The CPs are so far apart in some cases that you capture one CP and then on the other side of the map... the enemy takes a CP of yours. It gets annoying.

So the more troops on the map... the quicker the game will go. Especially at the end.

Thats my two cents at least.

Well, think of it this way. When one side is appearing victorious, they must round up the remaining enemies and annihilate them. I'm still working on this, but there seems to be just a bit of a misunderstanding. 1000 reinforcements is the maximum you can play with on my map. At 100% of reinforcements, you will have 200 on the map. That is the default. 500% - 1000;)

I'm still tinkering with the spawn counts and all. I'll see if it'll accept my 50vs50 unit count.

50vs50 would be cool, is it possible to have ers
in the map,
aireal strikes like that would make game faster.

I played a few days ago online with a total of 4 players.
we had 600 reinforcements.
the battle took an hour.

just think about this though, for some people a lot of units on screen, or even map all at once may make the map lag...

It was pretty much already mentioned.

The map is so big though that I highly doubt it would lag that bad. At the beginning... maybe, but once the troops are spread out enough, the lag should be minimal... if any at all.

The only way I think anyone would be experiencing lag is if their connection isn't good enough to begin with. And if your connection was that bad... I don't think you'd be able to play the map with even the bare minimum.

Thats my opinion, but if you run the map now without trouble... you should be fine. The only way you would run into to trouble is if there is a mass amount of fragging in a given location. And that will cause lag in even the smallest of maps.
