I am having issues with my space map with multiplayer mode. the host (player 1) can't spawn, or choose any buttons on the spawn menu. (they can only press escape and click those buttons)

Did you change the SetupTeams section? Sound like there aren't enough units to allow the player to spawn. Could also be that there are no places to spawn at. Post your Lua script and a debug log. If you don't know how to get the debug log, read the FAQ sticky to find out how.
