ive seen an odf in the mod tools for some clone swamp speeder or something but i think there might have been some sort of hovering speeder in the movie during one of the clips of kashyyyk, and i think that swamp speeder thing might be it. Of course im not even possitive there was a swamp speeder in their but maybe you could check that out.

No, it's at the top of this page.
Well ok, i think it would be cool to do this in old Star Wars fashion: RELEASE THE PREQUELS AFTER THE SEQUELS
That would mean leaving the battle of Coruscant Part I & II till later, and would mean that this map would be the first to go out. The rest of the outer rim sieges to follow. We really need to get in touch about this whole sceme. Send me a pm with MSN address if ya have one. Hope to speak to ya

I don't remember saying that. Anyways -- it's a lot more than that. The mesh is messed up and there are no animations for it. The best you could do it place crashed Catamarans as props.
I remember you saying that!
(no, really, I do.)

VEHICLE LIST:
UNUSED VEHICLES:
Republic Swampspeeder - rep_hover_swampspeeder
Rebel Alliance K-Wing - All there, yet ODF is incomplete
Wookie Catamaran - MSH and textures only, no ODF (might start work on this)

This map seems like quite the undertaking. I'm really excited about it!

Sounds gr8. Hope it turns out well.

I've already hit a snag lol. I've figured out how to double the size of the trees, but they don't show it in Zeroedit - only in playing the actual game. Some screens are here:

http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j285/ ... t=big2.jpg
This is the size I want, but as you can see, they're not exactly positioned right, and I have no way of knowing where to put things in relation to them in zeroedit without it having properly scaled in the editor. If anyone knows how to do this, I'm all ears! (By the way, for scaling the trees up in game, I added an msh.option file for the tree and added
-scale 2
as a command).

Jango is that gray ship the Republic Star Destroyer?

Yeah, if you pay attention to the wide shots of Kashyyyk, you can spot Yodas star destroyer parked in the trees.

Okay, folks. Looks like JawaKiller and his gang are coming out with the same map. So I would just like to ask anyone if they would like me to continue on my project, because if no one is interested, I might as well just stop. Either way, you'll get a good, large - scale Kashyyyk map, but his definately looks different than what I envision mine will look like. I won't make a final decision until I've actually played the beta, but I'd like to know your opinions (hell, if his is that good, I won't mind - I just want to play Kashyyyk the way it was meant to be played!)

Maybe, but I doubt it. He said himself that his release date isn't very far away, so he's mostly done; and I doubt he would like to work on another project that just happens to be trying to do the same thing. Like I said, I'll wait and see what his beta/alpha is like, then go from there.

I have now officially decided that I will continue work on my own map. In light of OGEB's requests (and plans for spiffy new vehicles and skinns) and the simple fact that I really want to finish it, I will indeed try very hard to do just that.
As for progress, I am FINALLY coming to the tail end of perhaps the hardest part of the project: the scaling stage. I think I've finally found the right balance between small - scale watered - down shipped battle and gigantic, takes 3 min to get anywhere boring map (though it might take a while to scale the trees to Yoda's hut - might have to put a CP up there lol). Though plans may change, it looks like I'll be only implimenting XL at the moment, due to the layout of the map (planning at least 4 CPs for the Republic, but the CIS only starts on a small island - putting 4 cps there on that one island would be stupid). Pics to come soon. Just thought you all would like to know.

More progress screens! You'll notice that, for scale purposes, I had to reduce the Venator in the background to about 2/3 of it's origional size - it's still pretty big tho. Also, I haven't gotten around to texturing yet, so bear that in mind

.
Here's a high view of the beach:
http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j285/ ... t=kas3.jpg
To be followed by a course of soldier's view looking out from the beach:
http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j285/ ... t=kas4.jpg
And finally Yoda's tent (still need to figure out what to do with that pole that's sticking out of the bottom of it lol) - looking over to that hill to the right of the beach:
http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j285/ ... t=kas5.jpg
Hopefully all that gazing at the DVD footage of the area is paying off - the scale's a bit off, but if it was as large as the actual movie, it would be too spread out - even with 400 troops on each side. It's still huge, though - even takes a while for the snail tanks to make it all the way up the beach. Also, if anyone has a version of those single Kashyyyk platforms without the huge pole that sticks out of the bottom, I'd be much obliged. Work has only begun! More screens as they come....

Nice. The devil's in the details... but you nailed it... everything looks in the right spot

.
However I would suggest (don't know if you were planning on it or not) to blend the textures a little more. Instead of using one type of texture for most of the ground use a variety. That way you will not get the ugly texture squares effect.

Of course! I mentioned above that I hadn't got around to texturing yet. Right now I'm mostly worried about the terrain heights, mountains, scale, etc. No worries, tho - it's on my to - do list. Btw, thanks for the input!
