Lightsaber Blades on a Player Model?

I'm working on a player model, and to be correct canonically correct, the model needs to have lightsaber blades attached to his body at six different points (wrists, elbows, and knees).

I'm not worrying yet about making anims or a combo yet, I just need to know if it's possible to attach lightsaber blades to a non-weapon model, or if I should just model them and then apply a glowmap?

you can attach a lightsaber to every bone you want (look into aalyas lefthandsaber for reference)
but only 4 ligtsaberblades are possible in swbf2

Thanks for a quick answer, I was praying someone would be able to :D. Well, I can deal with making two of them models with glowmaps, but how do you attach the effect?

is it AttachEffectAtHardPoint = "hardpoint_name" ?

Oh, sorry, I thought it (the saber blade) was an effect.

What I was really asking was: how do you attach a lightsaber blade to a hardpoint?

Sweet concept - I know who you're modeling... can't wait for THAT particular faceoff to be SWBF-ed. :D

Technically it's an effect, but it's all handled by ODF parameters at run-time.

I understand. But, erm, how would I go about attaching it to a hardpoint?

well im guessing you would have to set them up as a weapon somehow cause they attach to a firepoint as a hardpoint, as far as I know.

I think with 6 saber's he'd be okay leaving two of them as just glowing meshes, not doing any damage. With the 4 other ones doing real damage, no one will be able to tell. Unless the combo plans to use those two extensively, in which case it's a problem.

Well, at this point, as I said in my first post:
I'm not worrying yet about making anims or a combo yet
If there's a way to make them have the blades, but not have to be set up as weapons, that would be ideal.

Take a look at Darth Maul's saber odf. It shows you how to attach a 'saber' to a bone (in this case it's his kick attack, but it works the same)

Alright, I'll do that. Thanks.
