W.I.P.- Naboo: Encounter

Yeah, about time I mention my map...this is the infamous map that has been giving me many errors, but fear not, as I have fixed almost every error. The public beta release is scheduled for this week, probably Thursday or Friday. I will post screenshots when I can, but I am at school right now...

I got rid of the Gungans, they were giving me trouble. The story of whyb they aren't here is:

CW- After fighting in the Battle for Naboo, they are exhausted and still recovering. They prefer to not enter the Clone Wars.

GCW- The Gungans haven't been seen since the Battle for Naboo. Some believe that they have been wiped out. Nobody knows about them.



Anyway, here is the important information about it:

Capture and hold Command Posts.
Beware of the enemy, they are heavily armed.

Well, the public beta will take longer now, as the game randomly crashes to the desktop. There aren't any significant errors either. Maybe too many vehicles...

Crashing still happens when I am trying to play as an Imperial or a Republic Clonetrooper...why!?!?

Holy Vehicles batman! It looks like those are very needed as walking would most likely take hours , hehe. nice work, look like an all out battle, no where to run/hide!

Wow, what an impressive map!! Good use of vehicles and terrain from the looks of it. Looks like you're gonna need a lot of bots to totally fill out the required needs of the map for vehicles and stuff. How many bots will you be able to have at once?

Thanx. Yeah, it's pretty large. Tons of vehicles...yes.

1000 reinforcements for each side. 30 Rebel/CIS troops spawn at once and 20 Imperial/Repulbic troops spawn at once.

But, public beta will take a while, considering that the game crashes for Imperials and Republic...

Looks promising.
a few things i want to mention.
the terrain texture looks too bright. read here about how to darken it: index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=163
There is also no lowres terrain.The background fog out in solid green.. Read here about it: index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=236
I hope there will be some trees and bushes. At the moment it looks so empty.
Do you turned shadows off? I ask this because i don“t see any.
And it would be cool if there are some lakes here and there.

Yeah, terrain isn't blended yet. Also, the trees, bushes, objects, and water will be added, I prefer to work in steps and solve current problems before newer ones.

Shadows off...I dunno!! I'll look into those links, thanx!!

I copied the Naboo .sky file. The "lowres terrain" was set. I changed the other values to what Eddie put.

Things have been fixed more. There are only two AT-AT's and AT-TE's now (game crashed because of so many of them). Also, the MTT will make a debut. If I can get a working Hovernaut, it'll be in there as well!! And, when the new BF Builder comes out, every vehicle will have sound!! The newer version will allow any vehicle on a map to have sound, not just the ones on the same map.

Actually, release tomorrow or day after. I'm pooped of working, and L-5-R and I are trying to figure out the LOD problem.

Dang, Public Beta Release may be delayed again, as the LOD problem should be fixed. A plateau looks like a grassy hill, until you come up close to it, and then it looks like a rocky plateau. The mountains do this too. The water has a rocky texture around it as well, but only when you're close, otherwise the area around the water looks like grass...

This happens all throughout the map, but it isn't too much of a problem. No other problems exist though!!

I am hoping to add L-5-R's modified AT-ST to my map. Maybe the Hovernaught will make an appearance as well, if it can be fixed.

Could it be you have two different texture for the different LOD distances? I don't know a whole lot about modding, but from what you're saying that sounds like the problem.
