LVL_PC problem

Post by plasmoidmonkey »

Okay. Every time I make a new side and munge it (common checked and side selected) The ABC\LVL_PC\SIDES folder is empty. No xxx.lvl file at all. I am 99% positive I didn't miss anything in the tutorial. And if I did, please tell me what it is!

I get this sometimes too, I don't work with sides much.

Maybe you're missing the common folder in the sides folder that you have to get from the assets or something.

Hey, I know, just list off what you did, then if you missed something, it should help you remember, and don't refer back to the tutorial, maybe you're reading something and saying oh yeah I've done that but you really haven't.

Okay. Here's what I do, if it helps.
1. Make XXX file in ABC\SIDES
2. Make subfolders in ABC\SIDES\XXX
3. Fill req folder.
4. Make xxx.req in main folder.
5. Fill out all models, mshs, odfs.
6 Make XXX folder in ASSETS\SIDES
7. Copy munged.bat and clean.bat to ASSETS\SIDES\XXX
8. Munge
9. Check ABC\LVL_PC\SIDES.
10 See there is nothing there.
11. Get very annoyed.

1-Go to data_ABC/BUILD_PC/Sides.
2-Right click on the ALL folder, select copy
3-Right click in the white space next to the folder, select paste
3-Rename COPY OF ALL to your side name

It's not munging because your side can't be found in the build folder
