Well im new at this and im pretty much confused.

I found out that the shipped SWBF2 modtools exporter doesnt work with XSI 4.2 and im not sure if it works with the trial of 6.

Do i need to get version 5 or 5.1?

P.S. how do you get the addon thing from the swbf2 for xsi to work?

it does work with 4.2, it just CANNOT be the mod tools version, you just go into file>addon>install.

how do i get the not mod tools version of xsi? is it free?

you can download the XSI mod tools from here:

and yes they are free. The exporter doesn't work with XSI mod tools though, you'll need either XSI foundation, essentials or advanced to be able to use the exporter.

mod tools CANNOT export swbf2 models, you need to buy the full version.

i have both of the ones carbine posted. but how do i export with xsi 6? the addon by pandemic doesnt seem to work with it. So how do i export with 6?

you dont, download 4.2, 5.0 or 5.11, you can get links to them in downloads>older versions on the softimage website.
