Who said BF2 had to be Star Wars based? That's what the mod tools is used for...

No, what I said. I said that this map was to be Star-Wars-based. And everyone started saying, "Says who?" I agree that there is no obligation for a modder to stick to the Star-Wars theme. I also think that the choice to do so or not to do so is the modder's own decision. If I decide I want this map to be Star-Wars based, then it will be. Likewise, if I decide I want to release a different version of this map, after the main one is done, that has aircraft carriers and the like, then I will do so.

@ Nova Hawk: if you want to play a game with aircraft carriers in it, get BF1942. It does a much better job than any SWBF2 mod/map ever will.
@ Fiodis: this looks promising. If you want to use my sides (noticed you asked in asset forum) then go to the 'Sky's New Sources' thread in the assets topic. It has links that actually explain what's in the various source file downloads.

Well, I was finally able to play through the map. It was pretty fun.

A very original idea. There's only been 1 or 2 water-based maps that I know of, and they were pretty recent. I like the skins on the 664th Legion, the teal (or whatever it is) looks good with the white. Combat between "ships" is interesting, as are those huge barges. That was probably the coolest part of the map, seeing those barges go from platform to platform. I also like the big structure in the middle of the map and the big Mygeeto building in the sea caught my eye.

One of the first thing I noticed is that the Clone Heavy trooper and ARC trooper were equipped with the exact same weapons. Also, the Barges, although very cool, were very difficult to get on, and there were few AI on any of them. Also, I wasn't really sure the purpose of the big central structure or the Mygeeto tower, they were just kinda there. One last thing, was the number of vehicles they could be increased.
Overall, an inventive, decent map. 7.5/10 :clone:

Not bad review there, considering it's a beta. The full version is at about 95% completion. Check out the topic in the WIP forum, Tientia: Naval Engagement:

The Mygeetian building has been raised on a little island, and more stuff has been added. The purpose of the buildings in the middle and the Mygeetian building are to be props. What kind of map has no props? Imagine the convo pack without little buildings, plants, etc.
Yes, a few troopers have the same weapons. Especially the Republic side. But that's because...I felt like it. It's meant to be a new legion, so mainly I reskinned it. The new units I added have different weapons, but the basic 6 troopers are more or less the same. I don't see that as a positive or a negative.
Btw, the legion is the 364th, not the 644th.

Yeah I guess I didn't understand they were just props, but it was only a little thing. Map's still pretty fun. I checked your WIP topic and it's looking even better.
Btw, the legion is the 364th, not the 644th.
Oops, sorry.

Hey Fiodis. I do enjoy water-based maps. Though, this is the first one that I've seen that was actually...Well, on water. Interesting and innovative. I enjoyed it, though I'll happily await a new version with an AI fix. I'm no modder, but do you think it'd be possible to have a skiff or something in there? I don't know if they have models for that though, just wondering.

There is a Hover Skiff in the Convo Pack assets.
