Crash When Editing a Side Texture

Post by nokolok »

So i was following JediMoose32's video about editing a units texture found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf0SYJfQb5g&t=195s. Everything is fine up until i edit the script
ABCc_con.lua
to read file in add on instead of the main path by adding a
dc:
before the
SIDE\\rep.lvl
inside the quotations so it would end up looking like:
dc:SIDE\\rep.lvl
I successfully munged rep with common checked as he did in the video. Without even editing any files in rep, i tried running the test map. It crashes every time, but only if Clone Wars and Conquest is selected. Therefore i figured the script edit was at fault. I went back and changed the script edit back and munged again. It works fine now, but there is no way to edit the textures and have them show up in game without this step.

Im not sure what to do, as i followed JediMoose32's instructions exactly. I tried re-installing both BF2 MODTOOLS and BF2 itself. Any help would be much appreciated.

You said you munged rep with common checked, but did you munge the common side? In the Sides pulldown there should be an option called COMMON. If not, you'll have to add it to your side folder.

Posting the contents of your bf2.log will help.

OMG thank you so much. That was the problem. Didnt know i had to have the common folder as well. Stupid mistake by me. Custom textures are working perfectly. Thanks so much again! :D
